恐竜像
木を10数本使い、木の種類も様々な樹種を使いました。
例えば頭の重さとしっぽの重さがちょうどよくバランスをとるために、頭は軽いヒノキを使い、しっぽの方は比重の重いクスノキで制作してあります。
上半身の重さを支えられるように工夫してあります。足は縦の目が強い杉を使い比重が軽くても中間で支えられる材を使ってあります。
We used over a dozen pieces of wood, incorporating a variety of different species.
For instance, to achieve the perfect balance between the weight of the head and the tail, we used lightweight Japanese cypress (hinoki) for the head and denser camphor wood for the tail.
The structure is designed to support the weight of the upper body. For the legs, we used Japanese cedar (sugi)—a wood with a strong vertical grain—selecting material capable of providing mid-section support despite its low density.
カブトムシ像
全体をヒノキで制作し、それぞれのパーツを
別で作って最後に組み立てるようにしてあります。
全部で22パーツあります。
カブトムシの自然な姿にするために杉の木にしがみつくような格好に制作しました。
The entire piece is crafted from Japanese cypress (hinoki), with the individual parts made separately and assembled at the end.
There are 22 parts in total.
To capture the beetle's natural appearance, I sculpted it in a pose that makes it look as though it is clinging to a cedar tree.
